Review: 6-cell battery for MSI Wind U100 netbook

The simple fact of notebook life is that notebooks simply don’t run as long on their batteries as they should. This is especially true for my MSI Wind U100 netbook. Nikkor 18-200mm vs 28-80mm sharpness comparison

I’m a big fan of the Nikon Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G VR II AF-S lens because it’s so versatile. It’s also a great companion to my Tokina AT-X 116 ultra wide angle zoom lens. Both fit nicely into my small LowePro SlingShot camera bag and it doesn’t get too heavy.

After reading Ken Rockwell’s review about the Nikkor 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6 G I was curious to see how much sharper it is than my 18-200mm lens. Ken claims the 28-80mm to be “unbelievably sharp”. Read more »

How to connect the Line 6 PODxt to GarageBand

I have a Line 6 PODxt guitar rig sitting on my music rack for years. I’ve had some very limited success connecting it to GarageBand when Mac OS X 10.5 was first released. Sometimes it worked but most of the time it wouldn’t record a thing in GarageBand. As this got a bit frustrating I just continued to use the PODxt on its own which always works fine.

Today, I tried again with Mac OS X 10.5.5 and the latest Line 6 driver and it worked right away!
